Cedar
Cedar is highly sought after for beautiful appearance grade timbers. Western Red Cedar is often used for outdoor applications where stability and resistance to rot and decay are desired. Timbers are available with a clear or knotty appearance and will weather to a silver grade appearance if left untreated outdoors.

Douglas Fir
A popular choice for exceptional structural strength. Clear Douglas Fir Timbers are known for their stunning appearance. Structural timbers are knotty and graded for structural uses. Timbers are available surfaced or with rough sawn surfaces.

Glulams
Glued laminated timber, also called glulam, is a type of structural timber product comprising a number of layers of dimensioned timber bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant structural adhesives. Glulams provide for advanced building techniques and are ideal for applications where reliable engineered wood applications are required.

Pressure Treated Wood
Specialty Wood Products supplies pressure treated wood which is designed to withstand Colorado’s challenging weather. The advantage of pressure treated wood is that the wood will last longer due to resisting bug damage and rot, but best of all it’s very affordable. Pressure treatment is a process that forces chemical preservatives into the wood. Wood is placed inside a closed cylinder, then vacuum and pressure are applied to force the preservatives into the wood. The preservatives help protect the wood from attack by termites, other insects, and fungal decay.

Tropical Woods
Specialty Wood Products has a variety of exotic, tropical wood to select from. Tropical woods are naturally resistant to rot and decay and are generally a very hard wood. Tropical woods can make an outdoor deck extremely attractive and beautiful. The texture of exotic tropical woods tends to be coarse; luster high; grain straight to irregular. Works well, cutting cleanly with hand and machine tools. The end result shows an excellent finish.
